Worrying Still

11/02/2024
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:30-32

Next we see the disorder spoken of once before has proceeded on outwards as these things often will do. It’s crept out into the surrounding community. That’s the thing that begins though what starts out as one little murmur. You can think of it as the final heart attitudes that determine where you might would end up. The natural progression from there is one of three things. Since you’re already worrying, just imagine this. There’s the view of God as one who refuses to provide for his people. Instead, he might as well just go on and take us away while he’s at it. Even the grass though gets better treatment than us though at first. Still though unlike the grass of which we’re made up, God takes care of us too as well. Still, I have the sneaking suspicion some of us have grown used to standing naked in his throne room a little too well as though waiting for him to see and hear and finally intervene. Then too from there it spills into the second response as those being some better than the grass though made up of but dust themselves. These run around searching aimlessly for what they will do. Some even have decided in their fretful condition that after all they are the Lord’s chosen people. Therefore it makes no sense to any that they should be the ones standing in need. The Gentiles sure think they’re something don’t they at first. Sure, they have all sorts of fine airs demanding their special attention with this choice of vacation and that choice of staycation. Quite possibly there’s also some entertainment here to be had in all that. To other people though, it becomes just one endless long struggle of trying to survive If not just to thrive. Given that we’re saved and forgiven, a child of the King, let’s not worry too much about all those pesky little things of this earth. I mean, it was but dust to start off with and it’s heading back there of course. In the meantime though, our Father can be trusted to give us just enough for today and so also to show care to us along the way.
