Wiser Still

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

Proverbs 9:1-3

Next, we're looking at what all wisdom has done. Wisdom is that little voice in your head that keeps you from saying driving your car off a cliff or speeding too fast around town. It's that thing that says stop and look before you act or think before you talk. The problem is that many of us don't take the time to really stop and think. A lot of us live life from one moment to the next, never mind the fact that life is passing us by. It's what makes some cultures send grown up kids to school and causes other cultures to leave them at home. That's because the coming of age or "grown-up" is considered different wherever you go. In Middle Eastern and some African cultures, a grown-up is no more than say twelve or thirteen years old. To the Asians who prioritize good grades and achievements, grown-up is more like twenty-five to thirty.

Sounds annoying, I know, but suppose it be nice if you had someone there by your side to guide you should that day ever occur. It's called wisdom, whether you know it or not. It has the power to keep you, guiding you down good decisions, so you don't wreck your life. In fact, it's so good, it even has a special house to whom people who possess it will go. It's called the house of the wise and can be found in many places, whether rich or poor, all over the world. Then again, wisdom is a good philosophy that helps us learn something more than we'd yet known before. There are seven pillars to the wise philosopher or the life of the just. Let's see if we know what all of them are.

Judgement

Rule

Authority

Dominion

Power

Mercy

Justice

That's been figured on out so now it's time to break them all down. These are the seven domains of a society or characteristics expressed in a life if you will. The society is just the larger macrocosm of many lives put together. Each life then has a role to play in the part for the greater good. Maybe you might not like it just yet. That's why for some their role seems unusually difficult that they have to play. Others of you might not like the box you've been put in all sealed up inside. That's because society hasn't yet figured this out. In order to get by, we all need each other in some way or another. What if there's something you can do that's better than me or even vice versa. Every job or career or family move that you make is an actualization of one of these goals, a making as it were of things that be. How you go about doing it though is called the expression. People express themselves in a variety of ways, for instance politically for power or even making a difference. Thus, politics can be more about an expression of power, mercy, justice, or even all three. Don't get judgement and justice though twisted. The two are not the same though they sound very much like the other.

Then the beasts have to be slain because they're those things that keep you from the enjoyment of life. Maybe that isn't all life was meant for you to do was indulge and enjoy. That's why the wines are there well-mixed by yourself to keep you all humble. Some are sweet, others sour, and still more are quite bitter. Come to think of it it's the little things that matter in life but not quite. Remember the man that had a vineyard but the pesky foxes kept sneaking in and destroying his vines. He'd come back and find the grapes snatched off and eaten or the vines gnawed off at the base and laying in disarray instead. He might've even appointed someone to watch it maybe I think, but they thought the foxes were cute and so led them away. Wisdom can either lead the foxes away or knows when to slay a few beasts cause perhaps you'd like to relax at the end of the day.

After doing all this, wisdom has plenty enough to spare to lay before her own table and also to enjoy herself just a little. It's not that she's about to go into want, but that she's been able despite difficulty to continue to stand. In this way is the table furnished and the house of the just well provided for instead. Wisdom also has maidens, close people on which she relies, that are able to carry out her business and so do it well. Therefore, even if she herself is incapacitated, she has no shortage of help. Thus, she has plenty enough and room even to spare and lets none in her city go yet without. Maybe it's not always money or things that make you successful, but the connections you make and the things you do for each other. Regardless, wisdom in this way is carried out well.
