Where To Next
Hosea 4:10-12
For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
What is essentially the modern equivalent of selling your soul to the devil if such a thing we're even possible. While it might be completely understandable what with the commerce center locked up and all, that does not make it any more desirable. Just because the parents ate raw grapes and set the children's teeth on edge does not mean that everythings okay. I can almost hear the Lord saying now 'once a whore, always a whore.' Except he does not. He knows their frame for he made it and remember it is but dust. You know what but dust does when it rains; it sticks together. How thankful I am for the but God of this text. You might not see that yet, but trust me, it's coming. Hear now the Word of the Lord 'youve done more than you're parents ever have.' For nothing they sold themselves but now have the children done more. Even for money and want will they give themselves away spiritually and in all things so corrupted from the parents that returned. Is it any wonder then that he will cause the punishment for such to cease from out of the land. The knowledge of what has been. Done is punishment enough. I don't know about you but I find it a very frightful thing indeed to hear the Lord say done. Imagine too how the parents must feel having known such cursing and now blessing mixed at the hands of the Lord. Then here come the children acting like wild things of the street. Small wonder the Lord says he's about had it. Consider how he made the wild animals themselves to leave the people alone. Should not the children cease from acting as so many animals that fear not the Lord themselves. Somewhere, a parent or two is bound to feel like it's their fault. But then again all the if onlys in the world will not have changed a thing. See, if they Believe not the testimony of Jonah, surely they will hear David. Then if not that, behind him is the Lord. Come on now. Have a little faith if it cannot be great. Trust the children to the Lord. He will keep them far better than you or I can. Even the widow with all her mite found she lacked not when she got into his presence. Notice the emphasis placed on seeking the Lord because they have left off to take heed to the Lord. How fitting it is to see the little church here at the end of the world be it ever so close to where Satan has his throne. See, the council may sit and the judgment may rule. But how many know that God will always overrule. For it is his house you're speaking of. How many of you know that where little hope is, there is always the Lord. Some of you do well to seek him for there he will be found. Trust me, God has never in the history of nevers abandoned them that seek him. See, it matters not how great the evil is or how dark the night. God is greater still to save even you out of it.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. How many of you know to let God right our wrongs. For so do we return our children back unto his hands. The part too about sparing the rod for the child….there lies a danger in not trusting God with our children. If we do not it can so easily trip us up. Herein you must resolve yourself to go not back to Egypt under any circumstances. The stocks also speak of bondage. See, it could not come at a worse time. For it is awful hard to live near where Satan dwells and God too. Just Imagine suddenly finding out that the God of the church is the same God that remembers. Spirit of whoredoms versus the Seal of God and what keeps them So often the past predicts the future. But thank God it doesn't need to. Often following God comes with a high price. He just may demand everything. Then again you might just lose your life. For it is then that God sets in. And you know that when he is through things never be the same again. Trust him little church, for so is he faithful. Just as the church of Sardis found, he's faithful. On one hand we have he's holy and on the other we have he's faithful. As the old song says, "weeping seldom lasts the night, nor sorrow ever be for long." My, it seems Revelation 3:2-3 was almost written for days like this. With hope found in the strengthen those things remaining that are about to die and hold fast as you have heard. Though your works be not yet proved before him, yet will he find you faithful. Should you even walk before him in white as those of a different church, yet will he be faithful. Tell me now, little church, when he comes will he find faith upon the earth. So intimately does he know these that his coming could take them at any time. So should you make way to receive him. We welcome him now with open arms into all our mess and distress. For the God of our sorrows can also be trusted with our tomorrows.
