When Everythings Going Just Fine

06/26/2025
Everything was going just fine of course until the mad king came to town. There was the usual nightly meetings on down at the pub. Had not anybody dared to stay late due ot the things that were wrong in the house and also what had stalked them unseen from the woods. Some time ago we had declared an end to all that as a few had ridden out chiefly in this say a few men from the town, the council, and elders, and nobles besides. Then came the princes of the people who had stayed by their side. Poularity mattered not anymore, at least then not hardly what and all with the crown claiming it was fixed and all but the rulers were gone. Perhaps they should not have been so quickly in this of this stuff down below with its watchers and waiters and keepers of scones. That is to say the few lights on the wall and what all had happened when these had flared up ever so tall almost as had the lights in the hall. Just a few days ago seems there was court there of course, which is where the men had all met to discuss the fate of the town. Funny thing really that we should have said fate at a time lunto this here as to date. I get off track though just a bit. Which is easy to do when everything is trying to kill you in droves. Getting around is not as easy as it used to be hardly which is why I localized all my efforts down at the pub. There in the night where a few things would go which is say out in the wide and the open besides there is not much to feast on just so you know. It all started when the people were missing after a short walk to their homes, the women were drunken and led there in scores. The men also had stumbled and gotten lost a few times though in packs much as the wild animals of which these things craved had mostly made it home safey with a few shadowy figures to be made out for the danger. Old woman Maddie had been gone a few years. Well, she was Mattie before to those of us who knew best when she really was quite younger I guess. The men would come home and would ot say much about this besides those of them to whom fate had returned. The children then too well, first the dead hd arisen on up from their graves but something was different and everything changed. The children a few times or two had gone missing forth from their homes. These mothers were not those of which I was familiar, having frequented the church house, the ministers, the local shops, and cathedrals. Down at the tavern some had ascribed it to God while others still blamed the shadows in the dark that would turn tail and run. It was these they had hunted, well a big battle of sorts, in which they had ridden forth joined by some other forces from port. On these the local men had known nothing besides being somewhat of children themselves and reeked still of spring. Some of the much older veterans which had returned from the war, the first one that is when it had been all about the angels and demons. Anyhow, I find myself getting off-track just a bit and also am finding it somewhat then strange. Perhaps it was to these customs to which were estranged. Some had even whispered that these had returned from attack with nothing but their horses and shoes and the clothes on their back. What these had gone out to far for am really not sure besides the few that had whispered simply these words they had gave, something somewhere about the return of the King. Had been a long time since he had graced us with presence or even had sent ought of the crown. That did not necessarily mean though that the kingdom went down. Surely a horse in passing might have put in a few words something concerning the king and all and whether there would have been any hope of return. Funny thing really that at a time such as this there would have the Master returned. He did not announce it at first, oh no, not really. Just that there was a cross outside the village a long time ago, from where it had dwelt nearby on Edomite lands. To say naught of the villages drifting with time and the weather and his blood on the sands. I was told all this of course from a thief that had come through here of course and would not you know he himself was the cure to whatever disorder existed in whatever far-off sort of kingdom, from a place not called Edom. Funny how they had preferred a man that had taken the kingdom to one of those creatures. It had been a long time though since he was seen in these parts heretofore and we had reckoned him since passed from this world. Do not look at me like that but of course. It is difficult to tell the times from the kings. Perhaps you might have heard of the strange young man in her earlier who had been seeing some dreams. How long ago it is hard to remember, harder still when the dreamer comes earlier.
