What Has Been Said

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Revelation 18:1-2

There is an issue and it is one that has crept into the houses and abodes of all men. In fact, there is something at work here and it is changing within from what was once wisest and wonderful into but the basest of men. That is to say a stripping away nobility, power, titles, and revealing but then the vice and corruption and all sorts of deceiptful actions most taken or roads that would have otherwise broken. Thus it came for the masters, the wise men, the scholars, the scribes and all who would have discourse made with their lofted ideas and fancy grand plans as in days long since passed away from the world. These too became twisted somehow as each day these had lived into something far worse even from the shuttered stairs to the cellars and basements and whispers of these. Somehow, having culture meant of all things a nice sort of home and soon became but a reputation to prove. As the men soon crept from out of the house exchanging the glory of God for a nine to five grind and a few dollars to bind while the women also became busy with much housework and children too few. Not content with these, they found themselves changed as from the glory of God uncorrupted into something far worse and most fallen even of devils and demons, and whatever would claim. Somehow the habitations were twisted and tame keeping its hostages with bars of iron and all sorts of fancy metal work and steel. These things too ought to have soared high like the birds instead of merely falling on back down then to earth where in the frustration and solitude found themselves taken. Perhaps it is too much to have thoughts on these problems as matters as though these were soon turned too from out of his hand.
