Various Regions
Well, as expected there are a lot of beasts in all sorts of locations. Let's see what sort of ground we might encounter once we set out. Oh, before I forget to mention, there's something I wanted you to see about the night. We call the greater light the sun and the lesser light the moon but of course. Then there's the stars but these change so much depending on which part of the world you are and how light or dark it is outside. The clouds also, when they come, do much to reduce the amount of light that can be seen. If the sun goes in a manner that avoid the direct north and south itself, then where does the moon go? Logic says it should go more or less along the same direction if not opposite while also avoiding the north and south. What do you think? Do you see such a view supported in the prior texts and in the night sky, or is the moon primarily a north, south sort of thing?
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good
Genesis 1:16-18
Now, there's beasts of the field as in Exodus 23:11.
But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
The field here can either be a wide-open grassy pasture-like land or else it can be land that is kept and tended carefully for the growing of food. Here, the text also applies the term field to include places where vineyards are planted and where there are olives. In that day, vineyards grew on large plots of shrubbery which took up the land. The oliveyard would have been a place where the olive trees were planted. These trees aren't very wide or high compared with the rest and they're sure not much to look at. But if you need a good tree that bears fruit and doesn't take up a lot of space, that's the one. Then you can always plant more trees if need be to make up the harvest. If you think about it though, there's lots of fields planted all over in all different parts of the world. Where they are and what's close determines the kinds of animals you'll find.
