Troubles in Cost

12/26/2024

And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

Jeremiah 32:9

And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.

Ezekiel 4:10

Is it just me or has the land lowered in costs? With all the people spread out throughout the land, it's highly doubtful the land values hadn't risen that much. Far cry then from Abraham's four hundred shekel purchase once before and the seventeen shekels of Jeremiah and his nephew. Similar reality to be sure, each overlooking a field though not where those were planted. Purposes though really doesn't matter when it comes to buying of land or they shouldn't when it comes to the sellers of this. Let's just say time has a way of evening the balances allowing stuff to happen. Not that what's coming is a bad thing, really. Just know that from Abraham's time on down there has been a decided over-valuation of land. Now though it's all come to a halt. By Jeremiah's time when the nation has begun to go captive or missing, the cost of the land has all but lost it's value. Instead, people are placing the value elsewhere on what's much more important. Can you think what's more important than money but the sustaining of life? Should anyone tell you otherwise, well, they're just faking it really. Trust me, the preservation of life and everything needful is foremost in place. That's made abundantly clear when the sum of meat to be eaten in siege totaled in weight to twenty-some shekels. Basically, the Lord's telling the people to make themselves matter. Say it with me now: there's food, shelter, and everything else. We call this instead of a de-valuation, a returning to total sum profit where the nephew's been idealized along with the land and some coin to return. We call this instead of a de-valuation, a returning to total sum profit where the nephew's been valued along with the land and some coin to go with it. There's those people in today's day and age who like to criticize that the value of money is tanking and society with it. All that's just a theory of course compared with the rest of the book. You'll soon see how justice will follow this returning to sense.
