Told There Thereof

07/28/2025

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Genesis 22:1-2

At this point, the dear Lord has brought to life at this time the land of mount Moriah there for an offering was taken before whom was sworn. Perhaps the Lord needs not have known what all had passed on there but Abraham had to have been. Needless to say, Abraham need to know what the Lord is here doing perhaps for no reason at all perhaps for some others that our God has yet seen. Either way, it was a temptation there surely and where on earth does mount Moriah there exist. Perhaps you may know there today but of the land who can now say. I can see it now, Father son and a few servants trotting across hot desert lands. Perhaps in single file or no, such is not certain. At least not so it was told to us, that much is a given.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

Genesis 22:3-4

Though with it a long way off being seen, more than likely such it was plain. An elevation, a desert, a long ways is seen or perhaps too just with a change in the lands. Funny thing is we have not been told where exactly, for I would desperately liked to have known. Though where do such as these go there for an offering besides the place that the Father has given. So strange a question as that surely when it comes to the times of the sands and too what could have happened for the country to have shifted like that besides just a had of happened. Could be nothing more than a mirage in the hot desert sun, then again an ancient and invisible kingdom quite not unlike that of its Creator, Maker, Sustainer, and now its Reedemer the Ancient of Days.

5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said,

Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Genesis 22:5-9

Here we see the little white lies that parents so often or those in positions of authority so often tell their own sons. That everything is gonna be fine that soon in the not too far distant future you will also be mine. This asurance though of coming back home again with his own dear son was something that Abraham need not have gave besides just from this a test being put forth from the Lord. As to who wants to sacrifice their own children, God himself was showing him something and the pattern to bring forth an offering need not have been.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Genesis 22:10-13

How it was that Abraham had missed there the ram was not that he was incredibly blind. As we had just seen his eyesight worked fine if he could see off in the distance what was not there before and a spoken of only a thus saith the Lord. How was it that he had missed the ram right there from the start except that God had caught the ram there when his back was all turned. Which begs the question as to whatever was chasing it there whatever divine from your heart and mine. Whose territory you see overlooked it all there that it be, meaning above all there was no place left unknown there to him.

14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

Genesis 22:14-24

My goodness, what fertile women. I do believe, strictly speaking and with counting there even that you have got one son, two sons, three sons, four, five sons, six sons shut there the door, seven sons, eight sons now even more. With the concubine also having four more there at one time. My goodness, what an awful lot of children that man had at once or could it have been that the news was delayed. In fact, perhaps Abraham even knew not that he had such a brother were the stories believed almost as a tale that is told of their own family tree. Well but it was not their own there that you see. Rather it was something having come forth from there of the Lord however twisted at best it was better to let him then prune the rest.
