Tall and the Short

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:27-29
Well, if there’s one thing for sure and that’s the human capacity for avarice and greed. Basically that means it’s in a human’s nature to get what they want. Sure, everyone has needs of food and shelter at least. That’s a given. Some people have a wide range of different responses when there’s a situation. Some will compare themselves with others and wonder why haven’t they the same or better than that of everyone else. Some will even worry about it incessantly. You know, that’s the response seen right here. The birds don’t sit and worry of course. No, they fly here and there from one this thing to the next doing as the Father provides. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve seen a bird in the stock market I guess. They just don’t worry about the futures and shares or probabilities neither. They just don’t I suppose. That’s good enough for them and it’s also for me. Now I’m quite sure he didn’t mean sitting back like the lilies do and do nothing but worry. I mean, they sit and repose but they also are beautiful in enjoying the sun. Thus, there’s neither frantic activity nor ceaseless worry to be had in this case. Rather it’s fulfilling a function and doing the next best little thing. Then there’s the third and final response to the issue given at first. Some people like to fuss and make a big scene. It’s almost like a who’s on first but but the queen. Only in this case, there’s no queen. There’s just a comparison with king Solomon with the providing of God. It seems no matter what it is whether big, great, or small, the Lord God has them all. His providing is the same, stretching from the creatures to even a king or earthly ruler of state. That’s not bad if you ask me for his providing of late. Now all that remains is a putting of others like worry and comparison without fret in it’s way and a giving them back to the Lord.
