Strategy
By now you're starting to realize there's something wrong with your client. They're lazy, want something for nothing, and like to sleep in. if they aren't treating themselves that good, God only knows how well they're paying. Chances are not much. So, what should you call yourself? You've only just started this business of one – yourself.
A Dual Perspective: Now it has come to my attention that I may be discussing more than one subject at a time. That is okay, the process of getting there is roughly the same. It's just that I have two different destinations in mind. Starting out, I really didn't intend to. But life got in the way, as you will find it does for your clients too. The housing market is my primary objective. See I have student loans that need taking care of. The best way of doing that on a limited salary is with a second job. But to make it in real estate, I'll first need my realtor license and I'll have to know what I'm doing which I sort of already do. The books just happened by happy accident one day. Now I'm going to have to make something of them. A year's time and effort into making them is too precious to waste. So here I am carrying enough load for two. But the proof is in what I say. If it works for one surely the other will do. Unless of course I don't believe in my product which is another matter entirely.
Maybe you've heard that content is king. Well, if that's true then consistency is key. Maybe they should've told you. You already know that if not, maybe they should. Same stuff every day. The times may change and with it your body. But you should not.
You can call it what it is and tell the world how you made bank on it. But deep down inside, if you're really honest, you know that's not who you are. If you're that lousy to yourself, chances are your real clients aren't making out much better. Heaven forbid any should witness you beating up on yourself.
That Pesky Social Media: Well, my business needs exposure somehow. Everybody is using social media. So, unless you have a better way of quick and easy exponential promotion then that would be it. A lot of people get to social media and then their pathway falls apart right in front of them. There's getting views, likes, shares, and subscribes. Now those aren't an end unto themselves but rater all a part of the finding customer's process. Again, just because your media is funny doesn't mean your message, search, and your way is any different. At the end of the day, your business hasn't changed. Nor should you if when you really think about it. See, it's all a part of the grander scheme. There are really only two places to go shove it: yourself or someone else. Now if you've got unlimited resources and can afford to have someone else working for you, well great. Delegating your tasks of marketing, image, promotion, business design, and so forth is a worthwhile investment. Does it work? It all depends.
Catchup: our support teams are struggling. Think for a minute about who is there to support you in your corner. Chances are they are going through a tough time too. So, you gotta dig deep and find the resources deep within yourself if you're gonna make it or enable anyone else along the way.
When you succeed, who gets the credit? Equally, should you fall who gets the blame. It shouldn't all be someone else. Neither should it all be you sure the situation came up. Maybe it was unavoidable. But chances are, if you're still here, you made a choice. It's not gonna take me under, not today, not if I have anything to say about it.
Cutting out distractions: time is your biggest enemy. With it the market changes the needs of your clients, along with competitors. With every day that passes buildings fall further into disrepair. And no one seems to be wanting to make changes any time soon. Since you're faced with time in limited supply, you must aggressively go after key time wasters. As you start to do so you'll quickly realize that public enemy number one is you. Nonbusiness related use of social media, your friends, the company you keep and even your chatter are all stealing it. No, I could really care less bout your baby mama, family drama, or even the in crowd. Save for their value as potential clients or future business stories, they are worthless to me. Think about it now. What's the thing you hate about them the most: the constant endless drama. Nobody, and I mean nobody has got time for that as well as their own success. If you can catch them without it on their own, then great. If not, well, you'll thank me for it one day. Sometimes you just gotta find the strength to walk away. Yourself is on the line.
The work will speak volumes. Let it. It simply means you have done what you were supposed to do. More than that you have exceeded expectations and done what no one else has dared to do. Congratulations. People see it. They will come.
Humble yourself. You won't know everything all at once and can hardly be expected to. For me this journey is all very much a part of the whole learn-as-you-go experience. "Rome" as the old saying goes, "wasn't built in a day. Neither is anything else worth having." But if you're lucky you'll get to see it stick around for a very long time. That is, if you do a very good job. If getting quality results were easy, then everybody else would be doing it. But they're not. Otherwise, I wouldn't see so many help wanted ads scattered around everywhere. Part of ancient Rome still stands in England and elsewhere around the world until this day. Tourists come from all over to see it. Perhaps herein lies the solution to the quick flipper craze. Well, do a good job the first time around so nobody has to come tear it down.
Optimizing Conditions: Maybe you don't know how to make the most of your circumstances. After all, you really should. Hanging out with shady people greatly increases your chances of being kidnaped as does running outside in the middle of a thunderstorm. Incredibly lucky is rare but it happens. Though usually not to the people who sit at home, playing it safe, and taking no chances. Sure, somebody is gonna wonder how you will know. You know that burning desire or passion deep inside you that decades of training can't unlearn. Yeah, that's it. Those deep primal longings urging you to take action. Without them you feel like you could die and you just might if you aren't willing to do something about it.
