Spirit of Rest
Spirit of Rest - Dear Reader, Acts has 27 chapters in its final form as we know it today. But how many know of the omitted 28th chapter found recorded in other manuscripts from that time. Therein it details how Paul was set at liberty. He then traveled from Italy to Spain and from thence to the northernmost borders of then Roman territory, the United Kingdom. He parted in peace upon certain of the druids proving to him their descent and lineage from the house of Israel. Not before greeting them with the holy kiss spoken of prior. Now I do not know how this thing spoken of here is possible nor how exactly one would go about proving such. It was a day where almost nothing was recorded, especially none of the unbroken genealogies. To go far, across the miles, so long ago. Required for one to prove the legacy of their ownselves. Not to mention the Druidic sacrifices of legend. In our day such customs would seem nearly barbarous. Nevertheless, so they did. Herein are the prophecies of Daniel partly fulfilled. Remember, the portion of Gods Spirit finding rest in the north. It seems blasphemous for a man to think that God could find rest through the giving of oneself. In my opinion, it remains one of the most disturbing passages recorded in all of Scripture. You can well understand then why the council decided such parts of the story were best left unsaid. Here I see more clearly than ever the grace of God. Now surely God requires you not to be offered, volunteer for prison, nor yet go on an extended road trip with him. All he asks of you is simply this: your time, your life, and your Yes Lord. Nothing else will do. He might lead you to all sorts of places you would not otherwise have gone. He might have you love all kinds of people you have not before. He might even minister through you, like Paul, unto many. Yet still, it is his life and his story. Somebody walk and talk with God today. When you are through, serve him along the way. Then will you find rest for yourself as well as for him. One day you too can say with the Song, Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away I will get me to the hill of frankincense Good night little church, sleep tight. – An Under Authority
