- Both roots, shoots, and berries are safe for internal use
- Root most common in medical purposes
Preparation
- Anti-insomnia and relief of inflammation, anxiety, seizures, and nerve issue disorders
- Crushing the roots and heating into boiling mixture can be effective for tea and topical preparations
- Can be taken internally
- Appropriate dosages not established
- Secondary benefits noted for chest congestion, dyspnea, and other minor complaints
- Primary application for healing of wounds
- Combinations with camphire for best results
- Also used with saffron separately
