Season for Threshing
Does anyone know what this so-called Scorpio creature should rightfully be? Now that you've looked at it closer, it's not really a creature, but rather a number of stars. These stars, if they've been so found faithful, make up the shape of a trident, a pitchfork, or even what they used to call back in the old days, a flail. It was used along with the cuttings or the scythe at the time of the harvest. This was a tool that helped to gather everything together into one bundle and keep it easily managed. The reason why I say this, is for one due to its' shape. Secondly, it was commonly used in the land known as Israel. If you will recall, the Midianite oppressors had come in to spy out and plunder the land. The people in the time of the judges were startled and quite possibly scared. One day though, God raised up a man known as Gideon who would deliver his people.
The place where God met him though was known as a threshing floor. Men would bring the grain there at the time of the harvest after the cuttings were in from the fields. There other men like Gideon would come with their flails and fling it about. Thus, they separated the wheat from the chaff. If you know anything about harvest, chaff is basically the stuff that isn't the wheat. Let's say there were strangers come into the land. Maybe the people who were born there had come back by it too late. Passover was meant to be held in the first month and the first month alone. Levitical law under Moses teachings allowed for these though with a command for them to observe it again in the month that made up the second. Thus, it was a catching up if you will. In just a minute, we will see all the notable history that goes down with that month.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Genesis 7:11
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
Genesis 8:14
Remember the story of Noah, the man who built the ark at the command of the Lord. There was a great flood coming that followed him. It was from this that God helped him escape in the building thereof. There was a lot of upheaval and pent-up energy spent in the flood both from the sky and from the earth beneath. Such a thing up until that time had not been seen before. This force was another contributor to the chaos that followed. All religious arguments aside, you cannot expect force that great to be stored up and bottled inside for months and years. It had been since the time of Adam until the rain came and we all know that Adam lived over nine hundred years. In the time that followed, the force suddenly broke loose with devastating results. Whatever caused the storage and release thereof that followed, climate change was not a factor. When you think about climate change, it occurs gradually, as scientists say, a little at a time. It is then released slowly over the periods of time that follow. An event, such as the flood, marks a shift if you will. Here, this climate shift was anything but slow and gradual. Perhaps it could be energy or force stored in whatever form, whether in water or earth, that necessitates a release. Therefore, the release then brought about the reset. Here we see the energy stored up in the great deep and its' release through the fountains. The windows of heaven too served as the storage with the release being found in their opening.
Now that you have seen the principles of storage and release, let's see what came next. The earth gradually dried up as the energy was all spent or exhausted. You know though, all this energy had to go somewhere. You might wonder where it went. All the water and energy therein went back into the earth, under it, or back up into the atmosphere again as the vapor of a cloud. So, if the storage and the release was let loose in the second month so long ago, the threshing tool is a way to handle it without being destroyed. It is the same principle with metal in a lightning storm. The lightning, as a form of energy, is attracted to the metal and travels down it before dispersing harmlessly into the ground around it. If you wish to be extra cautious and stand near it without getting hurt, you will need to wrap the metal in foam with only the tip exposed to attract the lightning. It keeps the force contained in the rod without hurting yourself. This is why it matters the shape your tool is in and what your understanding is thereof. If your tool is crooked, then the manner of storage and the method of release thereof will be crooked also. Let's say I have the metal rod bent into the shape of an arch. When the lightning comes, it will hit the top of the arch and bounce down both sides. Because of the force contained in the rod, the lightning can bounce from one side of the arch to the other creating an arcing out effect. Remember as we talked about before, stars can map out the past as well as, to some, show the future. Let's see if this understanding holds true for what comes after next.
And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
Exodus 15:2
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
Numbers 11:1-2
Now the children of Israel have finally left Egypt as a whole group collective led by Moses. They wandered into the wilderness or the mountains and desert that lay between Egypt and the other side of the Jordan, where their destination lay. Remember, the distance between the two was quite short in a manner of speaking. The reason their travel took so long lay in the argument between the twelve spies who went to see their new land. Two of them said 'with the Lord's help, it's easily doable.' The other ten came back with cries of giants and disbelief. Since the people had to make a choice what to do, they decided to follow the ten men back into the wilderness who told them the ill-report. Thus, their journey back into their new land took forty years longer than it should. Here we see that the people have arrived in a wilderness in the second month following the first, which is when they left Egypt. They also camped near mount Sinai in the second month and counted all the people. You know, some governments today like to take a census or a poll to see how many people they have living there and who they are. They sort of did the same back in that day. Only this was a roll call, if you will, to make sure that everybody they left with was still present and accounted for. It's sort of hard to call out the families, the fathers, and the names thereof without knowing who all should be there, isn't it? This numbering, calling roll, writing them all down, organizing it, and even the travel itself was a form of energy storage and release.
And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
1 Kings 6:1
Then too at the last, the month was seen as the time of Solomon's building the temple had come. During this time and the one that followed, he began to build a house for the Lord. Now the house might have been based rather loosely on his own designs rather than a specific set of instructions found in Levitical law. I'll give him that. It seems he has followed the instructions rather well though for the stranger in the land and those that missed the month of Passover. He has very nearly followed it to the letter, starting work on the house in the same month that the missed Passover should have been taken.
