Realm of the Light

Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Here we see Jesus speaking to the ones that worked very hard for their keep indeed. Notice the language used of labor and heavy laden being almost that of a slave. Man so often is, in and of himself, a slave to his own desire sin that crouches at the door and seeks to master even that himself. So too, herein is seen ought of the keeping of the law, even that of Jesus Christ himself. He came that all might be fulfilled and not to do away with that at all. But first, notice the bondage found between the two what in all man's strivings to be perfect. Might well have Jesus once referred to the teachers of the law as those binding heavy burdens upon the people that in no way could stand to see yet any released. So, it is with some of us.

How we cannot stand to see any saved, healed, or blessed much less to enter into such a thing ourselves. It is to this one then that Jesus Christ has come. You might not have heard of any such as yet. For there remains to his people the promise of his rest. How nice it would be to know ought of the green pastures and still water as before. Even the little colt fetched for the Master's presence knew it all too well. For the master was not some great burden to be borne. Nor would he sit upon it ever so heavily so as to crush the life out of the young beast. Nor would the young thing spend all it's might striving to go as though under such a heavy load.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

So it is seen that your labor, heavy loads, and burdens have run into the Lord. For there, upon meeting him have they ran out. His presence alone cancels the debt and what life it brings therein anew. Then too should we seek to enter as those led of himself into his rest. What good is the rest then if you have not entered into such yourselves. See, it's the difference between knowing about a place and having been there yourself. Until you take the time to finally go, you will never know the One who is so leading you. For the Master too had once suffered as one borne about for the sins of the world, a sacrifice made since the beginning of time. Herein, is he the be all and end all to all sacrifice, all reign, all power, and all authorities. These all must bow before him my friends, for that is just who he is.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Having seen all that, let us come and learn of him together. For so is his yoke easy and his burden light to be seen indeed. His yoke speaks of partnership in the Master's business. Sure, not all ownership is fair and equally divided. Yet when it comes to the Father, of one thing you can be sure. He is not only the voice behind you telling which way you should go, but he also comes along beside you to lighten the load. You might not see which way to go as of yet, but partnership with God makes all the difference. So too are you yoked, or teamed up with him. I can think of no better One in this world to work with my friends. Then again is the light of his burden there to be found. Remember as before the candle found lit in the dark. Its light chased out the darkness of that house that was yet to be found. But it's owner it seems hated that light and so hid it that his eyes be not all lit up. How many of you know when the light of God comes into a situation, be it of bondage or of servitude, it will not be that way for long. How much more should we trust him, that light of God hidden among men. Once were we blinded but now can we clearly see. How good God is to his people, is he not, my friends.
