Passing Over

11/02/2024

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

Isaiah 32:15-18

What a difference God’s spirit makes. In another place is recorded the surety of his promise after the trials and after the pain. When everything has been done man can do, he brings forth the rain. Well might you wonder how I know such as the dry ground becomes pools and a new way springs forth that we would not believe though it were told us. Herein remains the perception of God. In dealing with the things of the Spirit, how some of us need some different eyes to see and experience things. It influences our perception also, or what we see things with. Abraham himself, as fore-father of that faith house, once was in need of such. Scripture tells how he wandered through this world as in Hebrews 11, destitute and afflicted of whom the world was not worthy. Even so he was clothed in sheepskins and goatskins needing ought but the blood of his Son. See, his life formed the perfect picture of a wilderness of sorts did it not as he always wandered and never arrived. To him God had promised a son and descendents more than the sand of the sea or the stars by number. Yet when everything around you appears to be wearing out, it can be hard to see and experience such for yourself. Through faith though came the promise, the appearance of having attained. Notice here the words found in the text. You yourself might have been as an unfruitful field or a hewn down forest once. But when God is with you though he makes it all make sense. See the Spirit brings forth righteousness unto judgment. It not only gives you ability to stand in the ways of God but to walk in them as well. For when God is in the house, there will be nothing the same ever again. Imagine the peace and quietness that comes from God having settled the accounts. He opened the books and he made things right. It is who he is, my friends. Not only did he lead captivity captive and ascend back up on high, but he also is the same who breaks the power of the bow and the rider. Judgement, my friends, when it comes must pass on by and leave you alone. All demonic attacks that the enemy is using to destroy you must cease. Sickness must bow in his presence. Your finances will leave you alone. See, in all this time you couldn’t see him, hear him, or sense him, he has been working it out for your life and mine. It is all well, fine, and good to speak of his Spirit being poured out on all flesh and the dreams and prophecies which follow. Yet he is more than that, my friends. Imagine right judgement being brought to your house and mine. Faithful is he that has promised who will also do it, so what is there to stop his performance, my friends. Save only how you view him that makes all the difference. Notice how the wilderness springs forth under his care. It was barren before, left alone and counted as nothing. Now what will follow only God could bring forth. The only addition beside the peace and righteousness of a life well-lived for himself is the pouring forth of the Spirit. Should the field and forest follow after, let it come as no surprise unto the people of God. Perhaps he is the one that brings it out, my friends, establishes and makes it sure til judgement dwells with the righteous and all his days be established. So too will the Lord God reign over all in the earth. Herein is the surety of their dwelling found. For just as his throne is founded in righteousness, so too are all good things made up thereof. Since it’s who he is, and not always about who we are in times past or even in this present one, nor yet the one still to come, it seems we have to trust him for it. Even so, it takes him to bring it about due to his person and also his nature. See, it is in God’s nature as the good Father of all to do good to his people. So too will we dwell peaceful and sure, in peace and in quiet, in rest safe from all other distress when he leads us beside his hidden places. Oh to understand the hid places of God my friends, so that which is not yet might be made clearly visible. Even so does that which is eternal come marching on in.
