Nose of the Lion and Lamb
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
Ezekiel 8:1
It should be seen that Ezekiel sat in his house in the far away land of the Chaldees. He's been taken captive along with the rest of the people. In the sixth year then, he finds the hand of the Lord upon him as he beings to write what he sees. It seems that the rest of the elders of Judah have come to inquire of the Lord. Now if Ezekiel were not with the rest of the captives, the elders of Judah have traveled far to see him indeed. Perhaps there was an awful lot of walking involved or else Ezekiel had been right there with Judah in Babylon all along. Which it is though, the text does not say. Only the movement of people should be seen, like waves on a beach, caught between one thing and something else.
So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days
Nehemiah 6:15
Here we see the people starting to return to Judah from the Babylonian captivity. A few of them, such as could build and could work, went home well before. Now though under Nehemiah they have just finished the wall around the city. When Nebuchadnezzar's men came and the Chaldeans also, they set fire to the city and tore down the walls. Under Nehemiah though, these have been raised back up. This would have given the watchmen set around them a little more time to prepare for a threat or formed a shield for the people within.
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.
Haggai 1:1
And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
Haggai 1:14-15
We see much later that the people have been allowed to return and with them is a Zerubbabel the governor of very same name. Haggai would have come with a later group aimed at rebuilding the houses within. These also set to work on the house of God and raise it back up. This would not have been the original tent in the wilderness, but rather a rebuild of the nonsense that would have been Solomon's temple. Sure, the Lord had to have a house though maybe not quite of that kind. God said to build back his house and that is just what they would do.
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Matthew 1:26-27
In this same month we see the angel Gabriel coming to Nazareth from God to announce several things. Now I know it seems to happen all at once. There's her cousin Elizabeth, now an old woman, suddenly falling with child. The father to little John the Baptist served as a priest in the temple. After that, Mary got word of her own child too and herself being a virgin. In those days espousal was very much like betrothal is in our day. She was destined to be married to Joseph but not yet. The parents, if they had any, very likely had already agreed to their union and quite possibly set a date. They would not however, have known each other yet, having had only casual contact in passing if even that. In those days parents were a little stricter than they are today. In these days they'll at least let the children meet first and decide whether they like each other or not.
Back then, the children had very little say in either the meeting or the matter. Regardless, this woman was a virgin with a baby on the way and also an angel. Then too the man she was to marry was in direct lineage to David himself. This will be important due to the many prophecies that existed surrounding the Messiah. In order for it to be him, everything had to line up just right. Notice how the stars align in the shape of a nose. This nose can belong to both the lion and the lamb. Instead of just having a nose sticking up there in the sky or a way of knowing stuff, it helps to also be able to apply it correctly. That is why you will need the nose of another or a guide to help you make wise decisions and act on what has been heard.
