Making Soap
Soap is used for lots of things, cleaning, washing, and even bathing. If done just right, it can be used to wash your clothes, your belongings, and even you. Now don't look like that. You would look and smell a whole lot better if you've just had a bath. Don't worry, it doesn't even need to be a full one. Just a bit of water in a tub or heated over a stove or fire if you've got that. Get a cloth, dip it in water, add some soap and commence to bathing. After you can always pour the excess water over yourself to finish washing off. On the other hand you could always use your cloth to wash off the soap and then a clean one to make sure you're fully dried. It shouldn't take much water to maintain a good hygiene.
Things you need:
soap base - usually made of glycerin, oil, butter, or milk
whatever herbs you wish to add or colorings
Melt the ingredients, starting with the first then add the rest once it has melted. After this, you'll be free to pour it into a mold or even a shape of your own choice. Once it's hard, you'll be able to cut it into any shape you please.
Things you need:
oils
lye
whatever herbs you wish or colorings
Melt the oils over heat and add lye and water. The rest of the ingredients come after, then the mixture is allowed to cool before being poured into a mold to cure. If you use lye, it can burn your skin, hands, eyes, or lungs. Make sure not to inhale it or get it on your clothing or your person. This means wearing a mask for this process and cooking it outside with a long-handled spoon.
You might wonder how to make liquid soaps and washing powders next. To do this, you take a couple bars of firm soap and melt them over heat with water. It might be watery at first but will harden as it cools. You will need to blend the batch together after about a day from when you first set it on the heat and melted it. This will allow the soap to reach an even texture before it is poured into bottles prior to dispensing.
