Livestock Horse

Now I don't know about you, but horses are one animal I wouldn't want to approach. Some of them act like they've awoken on the wrong side of the bed. There's jumping and racing and snorting and galloping all over. Should you be unlucky enough to mount one, they'll either throw you or take you in for a wild, long ride. Then again, if you've spent enough time with them, they're equally sweet. It's all a matter of getting to know them though and earning their trust. Horses, it seems, enjoy a wide variety of treats like as apples, carrots, and such nor is there a shortage of things yet to feed them. These fall under the category of regular provender and include things like hay, oats, grass, and other small grains.

Since horses like so many other creatures can be wild and tame, these have to be tended with care. All horses love a nice warm blanket after hard work at the end of the day. Other types of care include washing and brushing, although strictly speaking these things aren't necessary. Then too, many are their uses to man. Once properly mounted, these will take you most anywhere needed. Thus, the speed of walking is reduced almost by half. These also can be hitched like the oxen and used for the ploughs.

Regardless, if you don't fancy keeping a stable, try letting your horse roam at will. They'll appreciate the shelter of being brought in for the night only to let themselves go again the very next day. This is where the treating with care part comes in. A well-kept horse will always come to you, see. At least, they do in theory and if you've watched too many Hallmark movies. Regardless, the strength of the horse lies in the foot. That's where both its' strength and its' speed come into play. To protect this, you'll need a bit of iron to give the horse shoes for a well-tended foot. Without them, a horse not well-kept could easily become lame.

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
