Little Children Where Are You

The Book of the Generation of Jesus Christ 22:6-10
But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
I have heard that you prefer stories to hearing the text. So then let us see what Jesus had to say about his kingdom now. The story starts off as all good stories do with a wedding invitation given by a king for all good peoples to attend. There was no way to postpone it if these would not come. It was already ready. Yet that is exactly what happened here. Almost no one wanted to go to this wedding due to their other things they already had. When the king heard about that, he went off. The first part of the text describes his indignation for it is righteous indeed. You know when someone makes you mad, the first thing you want to do is to get even. But this goes far beyond that.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
When the guests refused, they were basically saying they were rulers themselves and needed no king. For this cause then he destroyed them. Then what of the master who wanted his guests? What do you think he would do then? How kind he is to call all those in without food, or housing, or lodging to find. His servants went out to the highways and called them on in. It mattered not who they were or what they had done. In this Kings house then were they all counted worthy. See, the King had already provided the
wedding garments for the guests, the company, and the food.
So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with
guests.
Now all that was needed was their humble attendance. So come on in they did to partake of his wedding. The King soon found his house to be filled. Then you may wonder of Jesus who told us the tale. He is that King who hosted the wedding. All were invited who offered some merit. But then these rejected him due to faith in their own. They too it seemed had domains of their own that needed their tending. So, King Jesus went looking for all those in need. His blood to them they should plead. So, all those without came looking in need of a home. Thank God for Jesus who would never leave them alone.
