James
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Matthew 10:2-4
From this text we see that Judas Iscariot, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, Simon, and Lebbaeus or Thaddaeus were the only ones left over after that list of who's who on the house baddie list. Some of these such as Thomas would also follow in their footsteps, but it is not told of just yet. Of these, only Bartholomew wouldn't dare be found without the others just yet. He seems to be key in keeping the whole group together then if you will. If you won't, well that's okay too. Perhaps he's from Benjamin or even Joseph, though it's too difficult to tell which just yet. He may even be of a lesser known creature. Simon too appears almost indistinguishable from Simon Peter.
Later though, a certain sorcerer would appear to beg the disciples for the power which they did hold. Could it be this same Simon who once saw the Lord. Simon then, appears as the one which brings up the rear with Benjamin through whom the cup flows. Maybe it's Joseph's house though. It's very hard to tell just yet. For sure though, when these things are finally redeemed, it will be this way in the house of the Lord. Thaddaeus also follows very close behind in the footsteps of them all. It's almost as if the vision and the hearing have returned to the house.
9 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
Mark 1:19-20
Then comes James the son of a certain man whose name began with Z. This is proof in the pudding that not everything is exactly caught or taught in the natural realm. Some things only come through obedience to the Lord in the supernatural realm or from the disobedience thereof. James should have been just like John his brother and like his father Zebedee also. There was no reason why these shouldn't. After all, they were raised in the same environment, had been through the same things, had the same occupation, and even shared the same father. What was the matter then that James wasn't of this house that Jack built as they say. Well, which house is he from then?
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
Mark 10:36-38 tells of it like this. There came a day when James and John wished to sit together when they came into God's great kingdom beside their Lord. There would be one on the right and the other on the left with God himself right there in between. This introduces the idea of the twelve powers and with it the twelve tribes attached to these things. Then if there are twelve constellations and with them the twelve months of the year and the twelve tribes besides attached to the twelve powers of God, this raises a number of unsettling questions. Among them, where would God be if there are already twelve. Would he be the sum of all these or would he be the greatest, the least.
The thing is that God is all that and more. Were he merely on either end as were James and John, then that would make him their equal or the sum of the two. Instead, he's God all by himself creating a hidden power, the thirteenth. Thirteen is so named as it is the sum of the twelve plus one other besides. It is that of the hidden powers of God. Then if John is at the start of the year in the matters of Zebulon, which would mean James came at the end of the year which brings up the rear. Can anyone guess what month this might be? They were so like each other in everything else yet these two grew so apart. In fact, James is a prime example of what happens to someone who doesn't continue in their first place as did the angels so long ago. He might have started there, but due to his disobedience that's not where he would end up.
