Grown Trees

Daniel 4:11-18

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

God has a couple of lessons for us here. What he cut down can grow again as in the case of the mustard seed tossed out in the garden. We have seen such a tree before told of in Matthew 13:31-32 which was likened to the kingdom of Heaven. It grew from a little mustard seed tossed out in the garden and was the least of all the seeds. However, when it was grown, it became a great tree in which even the birds found lodging. In Ezekiel 31:12-14 the beasts are seen huddled under the ruined tree; the birds settled upon its branches once more. This tree, like the one that had been cut down, was very far reaching even to Heaven and to the end of the earth. This, I am sure we can all agree, was much greater than the tree told of by Ezekiel. For what God has destined for judgement can be used to feed and nourish many. The impact of such an outreach, even from a ruined tree that grew again, went all the way from Daniel to the end times. This is why it is so important to make sure your message and your delivery is on point. You ought to always offer God your best praise and your kingdom service. It may not feel or look like much at first. It might be no more than a little faith, but God is able to make that thing great.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

There are many branches and leaves because the roots did not bear the tree. Rather, the Lord caused it to become a blessing to many. Some people are like this tree here; they get so proud of how tall their latest building is or how they look. I care more about the sort of blessing I have been to the birds and the beasts. Because even to the least of these of Matthew 25:40, we have done so as unto Christ. There are two things emphasized about this tree: the height and its' sight. "It was meat for all" and from it "all flesh was fed." I feel like saying as do those fail videos whenever someone falls from a decent height, 'ouch.' In Revelation 19:1-18 when Babylon is fallen, are not the armies of Heaven and of earth fed flesh from such a table. Such an invitation immediately follows that of the marriage supper of the Lamb is prepared and his bride has made herself ready. Now while we shall not all sleep is undoubtedly a great mystery shown in 1 Corinthians 15:51; I find this one here to be even more so. We see a watcher and a holy one mentioned. Was not the first tree given over to the ruler of the nations for judgment? Now what is a watcher and a holy one doing here and in this place? Could not the watcher and the holy one be one and the same? It is clear from this text it could; however, King Nebuchanezzer does not provide more detail as to this person's identity. Just because the roles are separated does not make this one any less for such a description. Some of us get bent out of shape when someone separates our roles from our identity. God sent me here to tell you it makes you no less for it. Look at this message here.

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

You must be faithful to the light you receive before he gives you more revelation. This is why I write down everything so I can keep understanding. The issue I have with eschatology is this. Revelation 22:18-19 says if any man adds to the words of the book, to him will be added the plagues therein. If any man takes away from those words, his part in the book of life shall also be taken. I find this warning very frightening, as should you. We know from James 3:1 that interpreting and preaching the Scripture comes with greater judgment, condemnation, and commendation. So, if our understanding of the world empires is wrong, then could not our understanding of everything else be wrong as well. Should we not then preach Scripture and let God sort out the explanations. Therefore, if we preach and we are wrong, do we not invite ourselves into the time of Jacob's trouble until the end? I have often wondered about this; I suppose we will hear from him on the matter. Then again, no one knows the day, or the hour of his return save Christ himself. He alone knows the truth of the book. If we keep getting it wrong and preaching what we want, God is well within his rights to call us back or keep us here as long as he pleases.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

We see another thing. The authorship of the book of Daniel is in question. This answers the question of the preceding chapter about where Daniel had gone. Why was he not with the other Hebrew children.? He alone went to speak to the king in prior texts. Now, this passage opens with the king's words as though he himself had a say in writing Daniel's book. We all know the book is of the Lord. Do not mess yourself up by tripping over yourself. Your story is not about you but rather the Lord and what he is doing. He will put some people in your path who need the words of God; when he gets finished in their lives, you might find them speaking out of yours. We see that King Nebuchanezzer did indeed believe in God for here his testimony is recorded of everything God had done. Only he can change the situation from a self-centered focus to a God centered one. Only God can handle the transition. If he can command even his enemies to be at peace with him as in Proverbs 16:7, why cannot he rearrange you to suit his purposes. I suggest you let go and let God have his way. King Nebuchadnezzar got ahold of the book, the author, and held his own praise meeting in the first part of the passage. In the second, we see his testimony.
