Growing On Up

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:11-12
Then, here comes the next phase of the test. It seems that the power in multiplicity now appears. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen in the Shows how there is usually one repetivite theme running throughout the whole thing. Perhaps you like watching love films or dramas, how should I know. One thing’s for certain though, that a drama’s never complete without it’s fair share helping of love. Maybe it comes in the form of soft words, glances, or hope overcoming all forms of adversity. Other times, love is much more overt filled with grand gestures and plans. I don’t know, perhaps you much rather prefer love of the loud, showy sort. What happens though when you’re out of view and hidden from other’s prying eyes? It’s wonderful to say love conquors all then. It’s really quite another to walk therein day after day. It’s quite another when your tired and the children wait to be fed. Love then creeps in softly on little cat feet like a summers hope for journey’s soon end.
That’s what the powers of being taken up is like unseen by all yet still found inside. Aren’t the grass, herbs, and fruit tree all many in number? Imagine if one day the fruit tree said it was the tallest of these. Perhaps you’re right when the summer’s plentiful but what of the harvest when the rains are too few? Then the fruit gets ripe as it’s very nearly ready to fall if the reapers don’t come first. This is the story of what happens when the rain comes down and falls to the earth. These rains found in soil and under water channels will slowly make their way back to the top. It does so gradually, only when needed. This though, is like the slow and steady kind of love that’s there in all sorts of weather and at all of the times. These rains are then taken up by the grass and herb and tree of the earth. This is done by means of the roots, which sprout out at the end of the plant, keeping it anchored in sandy soil and dirt. The water is used by means of osmosis or simple filtration to climb up into the plant and give life through the roots. That’s because the root system is made up of many tiny interlaced fibers. The fibers run through the whole length of the plant. They’re sort of like straws if you will through which the plant gets it’s life from the ground. That life though is only taken up through the water obtained from the depth of the root. There’s all sorts of water found at various places in earth. Some water is a lot further down than it appears at first at the top. That’s why you can have some plants like the flower of the earth that appear for a time. Then when the sun comes, they wither away being without any depth as at first. The drought too has this effect in the desert and a few other less arid regions. That’s why tall trees like the palm and the rest of the fruit tree family does really well in these places. Other things with much smaller roots like the grass, don’t fare all that well. The plants though very much mind as this water is depended on for life as well as keeping them nice and green all year round.
