Finishing Up
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 -But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matthew 5:42-44
Now we have before us the matter of the last, that of the thing that wraps it all up nice and neatly together. Let's see which then is the greater of the two. Perhaps there are debts left still waiting to be paid. To these then the distance is gone without time, or price, or measure. Perhaps the borrowing too has no chance of great reward. At this point who knows what is done, whether restorative justice or not. Perhaps it's all a form of love. In times of old, the precept according to the statute has been given that follows this:
Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
I'm sure the court would all agree that what follows then are enemies and such of evil. Really though, the issue is more than time or space but rather one of place. The neighbor and the enemy then you see are all very relative based only on behavior. The actions of one make a neighbor and the other is an enemy by what they say and do. The rule of the court though will stand at this.
Love your enemies
Bless them that curse you
Do good to them that hate you
Pray for them which despitefully use you
Surely once you start loving these though above and more than all, you will find within that they are more than enemies having been so brought back into one accord. Regardless though, these little rules apply in restorative justice and the smiting alike. Now I'm not saying that we are to just allow anything to happen. Rather in the trial and in the good is therein found a great reward. Just maybe you don't see it yet at all. Regardless though, let's sit back and rest in our God's blessed, loving care. He so cares for his children and keeps them very well. If the time ever comes that he requests it back again, let's trust him to keep the situation too. Maybe the courts of earth haven't been very kind to you just yet. Walk the miles with God. He's worth it all and is far greater of the two.
