Fatherhood in Question
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one unto his own way. And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
This is the story of how all the girls in class soon started sounding like each other. Perhaps if you have kept children for any length of time you too will understand. So then, Matthew 25:31-46 speaks of the parable between the sheep and the goats. Anyone that keeps these animals knows there are two main differences between them: namely their care and upkeep. See, sheep must undergo wool-care every so often. Shepherds refer to this process as being shorn to remove the excess wool tangles and dirt from them. Without this, the burden of sheep wool would grow too heavy for them to bear impeding their mobility. Some might even die from stress and high temperatures. Now the goats, nothing happens to them. These are independent creatures, preferring to graze high above the rocks. They need not a shepherd to guide them nor yet any to protect them. How well would David of Psalm 23 and Isaiah of Isaiah 53 know. My, these sound just like some people that I know. These God can do nothing with, for they know not that they have need of him. But how many of you know that to "as many as received him, to them gave he power to become" "sons of God" according to John 1:12. Whether you are sheep or sons, both require some loving care. Now I could name names and list sins if you want. I can even dress it up all nice and pretty. But I am sure such is to no purpose, for if you have him to guide you will he not tell you what you should to do. I know some of you are saying, 'he has told me nothing.' Check with him again please. The Lord is loud and demanding when he wants to be.
For those of you who would like to do as you please, he is not the negligent father that some of you know. Believe it or not, the good Shepherd will correct his children and his flock as well. If you have received him, then you will also become like him. For I am pretty sure he has not a spot or wrinkle on him. Some of you worry about such things. But he has the best skin, heart, and life-care routine in the whole wide world. Now that is not to say that either his flock or his sons are perfect. Far from it. See him standing now as the spotless Lamb of God in case you did not know. So, you see, it was your sin that put him on that cross there. Your iniquities and transgressions did too. Call them what you will. But first I must ask you this, how can you murder someone you know not and for whom you feel no sorrow. How can you continue to live as though their death has not affected you. How can you treat them with such cold and callous disregard as what you have done is killing them so. Now let me present this unto you. This is how they will one day look at him whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for their own son. So also, will you in Zechariah 12:10 should you continue to ignore him and treat him with such callous disregard. Then too will you of 1 Corinthians 11:29 become guilty of the body and blood of the Son. Now I am not trying to alarm anyone. Simply put this is the most beautiful love and adoption story ever told. So is it better than any Lifetime, K-drama, or Hallmark movie ever made. Jesus Christ is the best news ever told. Behold even now he is standing outside your heart's door knocking as he did at first. Will you not throw open the doors to your house and let him in. I guarantee you he will help you take care of your mess, your distress, and your drama. It is not for nothing some have grown to call him their eternal Father and Friend.
