Dragon Legend

11/09/2024

Not much is known of the dragon, save only from some legends that told how they liked to hoard pretty maidens and often gold. Then when they were not nesting, these flew through the air on great bat-like wings. Most could breathe fire and did so with great effect destroying towns and villages as they passed. Some even picked off the men. Surely not all dragons are a myth. Perhaps in days of old, as the legends say, they were hunted to the point of extinction. Now the wise ones keep hidden just out of sight.

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 12:17

One thing here I see dragons do and that is called getting "wroth" or angry. Now the text doesn't say what this one was so angry about. If there's one thing though that I know about dragons, they are driven primarily by their desire. This desire for treasures, position, power, or things can lead them to become angry very quickly. This anger can be expressed as the heated speech of a human or the hot breath of a dragon that throws things like fire. Then these sit upon these great piles of treasures amassed and guard them with their life. Should any come to do battle with them, they are always quick and ready to defend their hoard, their land, their life, and their children should they have any with them. Then again, their close relatives are the cockatrice which are very similar to those flying fiery serpents. Therefore, if a snake was to ever grow large and take flight on wings like a dragon, this would be it.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

Job 30:29
