Coming There for the Children

04/25/2025

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1

Well, it seems that God's a good God indeed for his people. David starts off the Psalm in a couple ways given his reflections on what makes a man and also the shape and size and scope of the issue. There's some ungodly men that you see that come up and harry all of God's children. David in his time knew it all too well didn't he being so driven from the presence of Saul on a few different separate occasions being nothing more than called by God in the midst. Then too he was the sinful man who strayed away and was often in need of correction. Surely he wasn't quite as sinful as some men most certainly. Still though, he was far from the perfect man of God that he'd knew. Those of you who might know of it thus, there's the quick issue of David and his sin with Bathsheba. The resulting union birthed a child from that wedding which Nathan the prophet had condemned as being a lamb taken from the sight of the Lord. Sure, it was another man's lady but that wasn't hardly the issue now was it besides that being all that man had. Then if there's none to stand before him and the ungodly won't come before judgment and the sinners from the congregation there of the Lord, it seems that pretty much all of us are in trouble in some shape, size, form or another. Unless of course, you're the most righteous man alive who'd never not once sinned nor found fault in his eyes. Who is then this righteous man then who'd be known to God there in the end. Perhaps all men hadn't stood in need of his blessing nor yet the ways of correction. If that's the case, well then, there'd be no hope for his people but for the fact that God sent forth his Son born of a virgin borne under the law to redeem them that are under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons. Nor is it just an adoption as unto men but then of him in the end for and by whom we'd cry Abba Father there in particular. He's God Almighty perfect and holy in all of his ways that we'd know of so well and then too just to consider. He's that blessed man isn't he of whom the psalmist is speaking. It's almost as though he's been saying will not the Judge of all the earth do right in the making. For it's by him then that all the nations of the world would be blessed just as he'd once promised to Abraham. Indeed, his Word won't return to him void for he's the righteous man, isn't he, there in his sight. Though there might be some other men who've been righteous time and again and had some seeds and some children who perhaps aren't nearly as holy or as righteous there as the Lord. It's to them then that we'd leave off this saying.

Wisdom Instead

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Proverbs 1:1-5

When it comes on down to the children, the sons of the fathers are really the best judge on this matter. That's to say, the fathers righteous ways or foolishness are sometimes bound up in the hearts of their sons. How well our Father God knows this for certain being yet the God who'd know us all so well and yet still pause to consider. David perhaps wasn't a righteous man as far as some would've counted this thing, but for sure he didn't sit or stand in the ways or the counsels of man. Then again, at times Solomon with all of his wisdom and purpose was hardly too the wisest of men, though perhaps just of that time. Still though as one of the wisest, even he too was no match for the Lord. In fact, the difference though striking and similar is that he's of all things been made unto us to be wisdom there on the issue. Though Scripture doesn't say that does it with certainty just that he's been made unto us wisdom, plain there and simple. In fact, he's the wisest of men and so also of angels and all other creatures having known the end from the beginning and whatever the ages of men with it would tell. In fact, his coming in was for a purpose not yet been made known unto man. It wasn't just so he could show the world what a big sinner they'd been but rather to point the way back then to him. For he came not into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. The issue though with some of us is that we have just not known him. If any of us would just have known him, there's wisdom and instruction for whom this is given, as Christ who's been made unto us such there all along. Then again are we in need of hearing his Words time and again. Even now he's calling himself out a people and for those who are perceiving instead. It's so that we might understand what he says so being counted worthy as all of his children. Then though for the perceiving becomes the receiving to them who would listen and get all the good things of God, gifts which he has given now unto men as when he'd led captivity captive upon rising again. There's wisdom, justice, judgement, and equity waiting there at his throne as just unto him these have come. So it's a wisdom much rather that tells his people which way they should be going, ordering all their sayings and doings as unto him.

Handed in Order

Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

Luke 1:1-4

Then again, it seems like this righteous and holy man that we'd see with the fullness of all wisdom dwelt bodily has once again taken to come on the scene. In fact, it's a declaration, a statement of faith, that our Father God is more than he seems speaking instead to where we are or ever have been. For so he's been good to all men. It's a delivery too from each situation, from whatever we'd face as unto him. In fact, it matters not what our belief is just that we'd rather known him. Though the seeing is well worth the believing especially when it came to all the righteous things that he did and his wisdom instead of the deliverance especially when it came to the eyewitness and ministers of these things rather there in the end. In fact, as Ecclesiastes 1:1 would've said "The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem." Which meant that these were called in his sight. These weren't just out here at random doing their thing it would seem. Nor are they just out here spouting off the words and the thoughts of all men. In fact, there's a life in the Word that's just as unto him. In fact, it's more than earthly wisdom or foolishness of teachings that were hereby being defined. It's also a ministry that lasted for a long time, enduring it seemed even before the beginning of time. That's why he'd created the angels isn't it so that there might've been witnesses to all who would listen to his love and his dealings here with his people. In fact, at this particular time Luke is writing his account to his mentor Theophilus. How like our Father God his name sounds, as it so often was the case with the rest of creation. It's only fitting that these things being made should hereby point their back to him. Theophilus then was no such exception, having his name taken so like the Word from which it was formed, through full of hope and the message of God in particular being worked out in action just as these things should've been. In fact, he's been taught well in the ways concerning the Lord. He just unlike the others might've not had as much certainty though perhaps he just suffers from Luke's overwhelming care and concern much as a spiritual father would for his children. In particular, it's always good knowing the order of the Gospel that'll keep all your ways whatever you consider and too give you wisdom and strength for the journey through all the legions of men. Though, isn't he the perfect man, the goodness and wisdom, the way and the truth and the life and with it too the light of all men and so too the hope that lighteth our way.
