Business

Victim Versus Victor:Often, we cannot help what happens to us. But our actions determine our deliverance from it. God puts the supernatural on the natural of our effort. There was this guy once whose house was located right next to a riverbank. One day the waters rose unexpectedly. There was little he could do about it. He could have spent all his time clearing the waters back away from the door. Instead, he chose to pray. At the end of the flood, the man was alright because of his trust in the Lord. Maybe his stuff wasn't. He'd still survive to walk away another day. As a result, the waters never touched God's blessing on his life.

Right Business, Right Time: Too many people have things way complicated for them because they are in the wrong business or at the wrong time. Maybe it's not working out because you aren't called to do that. Perhaps you've run into the devil's crowd who kept you from it. Whatever the reason, things just aren't working out. What should you do. Scripture tells the story of a man Jacob who once dug every well not for fun or for sport but because he really needed water. His extended family came and tried to fight him for it. Rather than give in, he went away to one more place. And you know what, God blessed him for it. When you've dug all the wells you can, God will keep one open and won't nobody be fighting you for it. That is going to be your well. That one right there, just for you, with your name on it.

Pricing: So often people go into business with a modified version of the following approach. Here's the question I had to ask for myself. How many clients do I need to make a certain amount a month and how fast can I deliver to meet expectations to make it worth their time and consideration. I don't want to be cold calling everyone. Know your clientele. Know your money, honey. We want both recurring revenue and one-off revenue because not everyone will pay you one-off. Like right now you're a prime example. You want to know how to make a lot of money quick, not necessarily how to change a life. Yet tell me, what is it worth if you cannot do both.

Everybody's got problems. If you can't like, respect, or even deal with that then you're in the wrong business. Maybe you don't like sob stories. Then again, who does. Kleenex and Puffs do, that's who. Have a hanky while you're at it too. But honestly, life gets complicated and messy really quick. Sometimes stuff gets real and hits the fan. There's no way to be cute about it. It just does. That is especially true when you're in business. Everything's going to be okay though. It's all going to loop back into knowing your audience later. Now some people just like to have a tissue party with a line of Kleenex and no end in sight. We're here for the solutions, not the after party. So, if you're about that, then grab a Chicken Noodle Soup for the Soul right quick and enjoy the feels. The rest of us have got things to do, places to go, and problems to solve. But better be quick about it, because you haven't got a lot of time to do it in.

Make It so they can't cut you and run. But don't make it so they couldn't survive without you. People know what they want already. You offer tools to help them achieve it with your help. If they could do it without you, they already would. The format you're looking for is short, motivational, and sweet. Anything else is a deal-breaker or worse an immediate turn-off. You might feel like we're moving a bit too fast for your liking. Maybe we aren't spending enough time on any one topic, particularly the first. This is business blurbs.org for those with short attention spans. As we go on, trust that it will all come together.

The Story: Jesus taught in story form for several reasons. First off, it's inspiring. Secondly, other people can relate. You made it, so will they. If you cannot, then what are you here for. The business of people is one of stories, successes, and overcoming. It's not just about getting rich, making money, becoming famous, and then dying eventually. Those things might be nice, but they aren't an end in and of themselves. The wrong mindset always produces the wrong results. So, make your story one worth telling.

Focus: If you aren't focused then you're not getting much done. Spinning your wheels endlessly on ideas, planning, or clientele isn't fun because stuck in the mud or the rut you'll stay. If you aren't focused, why should your clients be. They get easily distracted too. Ads are proof enough of that. Otherwise, you wouldn't be spending your time talking to them. The average ad lasts about fifteen seconds long. How then do you keep their focus. If you don't want to clear your schedule or life for them, then don't expect them to clear theirs either. People the world over are busy. There's three Ps of importance: presentation, planning, and performance.

Yourself: Congratulations. You are your own first client. If you cannot enroll yourself and your own family for your service, don't even bother. Your quality will speak for itself and set you above other competitors. There is more to your business than originally meets the eye. There's more than your current struggle to emerge. You are more than a caterpillar, cocoon, butterfly, or even as useful as it may be towards your goal, a business entity.

Footnotes and Credits: Who gets credit when the story is over, and your business is through. At the end of the day there's only you, God, and what has been created. Around you are the countless lives changed, people helped, and success stories told. As always there's the I'm better, not bitter. Of course, all this wouldn't have been possible had it not been for the age-old battle between procrastination

versus the voice of God.

Quality of Life: Not quantity, quality. Your clients won't want to live like monks. They certainly won't expect you too either. They want to be fulfilled and would like help doing so. If you aren't, don't expect to be able to offer it to anyone else. Much less, don't expect others to want what you offer with any degree of sincerity. Your business offers tools or a means of getting somewhere better. Maybe they've been unable or never gone before. Quality of life matters because today isn't promised, and tomorrow's never given. Both you and your clients will want to savor each moment to the fullest.

Multiplicity: It's possible to be ruler over five to ten cities as Jesus said. Certainly, anything is better than only having one or even none. I see nothing wrong with having multiple careers. Neither do your creditors who think nothing of sending you multiple bills. Sure, working for two masters' at a time has been historically difficult. I'm not sure anything done all at once will produce results. Well, it won't be results of any quality anyway. Multiple careers can even give insight into what you are trying to do. The problem comes into play when there are multiple clients or careers colliding all at the same time. Then you must think about your delivery system as well as your how.

Being brought before greatness: Someone will thank you for spending time with them or being kind to them. You never know where you can go or who you will see. So also, it is not yet known what condition you will occupy. When you do good and base yourself around that, word will spread. Being bought is the common pitfall. The good book says men are brought not bought. Nor do they ever come before mere mean men. The subject is what is focused on to produce interest compounded. The interest is not only on you, although you certainly are important. Nor is it money, although I'm sure you do want that. The client certainly will want an interest in you, your product, and your business. More than that they also provide you with the same: their interest. By understanding this, you can command interest from them. So will you also be able to compound their interest in the form of an investment in their lives and their futures. It is good to do even if you are the most important person in the picture. Doing business this way works to your advantage and to theirs. I've seen it work far too often. Companies are more willing to work with me and safeguard my interests. So, there's always a place prepared for me, even if at first there appears not to be.
