Brazen Though Lately

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Philippians 3:13-16

At this point, the Philippians journey is gradually evolving into a servant purpose of ministry. Might well you wonder at it considering that with all this pressing forward Paul ought to have attained once before. He did not though but all for the sake of the gospel. If you think of it thusly, the brazen altar almost is a mark of the ministry. Perhaps it is not one to which you and I should have attained unto publically. Still though the Lord is doing all for the sake of his servants and also his purpose being not slack concerning his promise but instead will back up his servants as them he has called. Being so invited as unto a race which you run or even something to which you ought to attend, Paul is not shy about who he once was as somewhat of ministry. It was no secret thus open in this that Paul was a sinner and even so was that of the chief. What was he doing here in a race that we are running as unto God we are going? The high calling of God is something that no demon ought to be art of even that of which this man had been chief, certainly not someone who was something in a circle of religion and involved as you say in giving the church a good persecuting. Thankfully God was not slack concerning his promise. Nor would he say abandon his sons as one to whom we have come. Perhaps it is just not the altar of service. Perhaps it is just a life well lived for his purpose. Regardless of this, our God has come in as the high judge of this race we have done. It kind of is hard to consider is not it that God would have called us to win and even as such to be given a prize. The mark though is singular not as of one of the devil as he would have had us to know but unto the Lord down below. Therefore, as with everything, it is certain that God is a revealer of this unto even the persons. Just think as one who would know our hearts and our minds. Even so in this our hearts he would bind. None of us is perfect then certainly not as far as attainment then later. Keeping the same mind though as Christ does much for us in the end as towards this world we have gained. Walking with him then and knowledge also is worth more than this old world could ever follow. Reaching out to him being so bold as holding tight to his hand know that he is not dropping us now, this one he has planned. Whether in service purpose or not or just following him still, our God is able to keep us no matter to whom we have come. In whatever condition, whether we are standing before him or the devil as he would have it the constant accuser there of the brethren, he can keep us by holding tight to his hands and not much rather as unto his plans. Knowing this then accordingly that he which has begun a good work in you will complete it verily until the day of his Son. Walking by the same rule so to speak just lets us mind Christ in the end. Knowing this he can show you how to walk like he planned and how to handle this thing just as you ought to which you have come. Minding him then is worth all that we ever could bring. Probably still too this was the service before which he had appointed Paul then to minister.
