Being Made Rightly
2 Corinthians 4:7-8
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
So we see our bodies as the vessel as it were for the indwelling of God. Remember before how we saw the body as a temple but now is it seen as a vessel.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work
Then if the Scriptures tell us all this up to and including how to be filled with power and anointing from on high, it should also give instructions for keeping the vessel, should it not? My, how it speaks to Gods victories of old, the wonders done on the people's behalf.
Judges 7:19-21
So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. 20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon. 21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
Fresh power and anointing comes directly from time spent in the presence of God himself. Prayer is one of the ways he has given us speak with him. So too is time spent reading the Word, the Holy Scripture, for the Holy Spirit of truth to guide us into all truth for his Word is truth. See, there might be an awful lot of truth floating around. Yet when God is for you, can't no one be against you. He defends his own as Father to the Fatherless, friend to the friendless, mother to the motherless, a home to those without one, and family to those that have lost theirs. My friends, why not allow God to be your light and your lamp also. His will never go out. Note that he cannot be bought, sold, or traded nor can he be bartered away.
