Beat
Now that we have seen the foundations of certain types of music that continue unrelenting, let us see something called a beat. A beat is like a pattern, a sound pattern if you will. I have obtained a sample of one here.
Come bah duh they told me puh rum pa
Our newborn king pum pum to see puh rum pa pum pum (silence)
Shall I play for you bah duh puh on my drum.
That sounds a whole lot better does it not? Beats are nothing more than variations in rhythmic sounds. How boring it would sound if all the music sounded just alike. Consider all the words in perfect position with a drum-like sound behind each one. The beat then varies it. It lets the sound be in perfect position in relation to certain words. Take this for instance:
Time stands still to haunt us
A genie in a bottle
Never ceasing to obey;
Better still to follow you and pray
Now bring your hands together as if to pray. But instead make a brief sound as the air moves between them quickly. Touch your hands together in what is known as a clap. That is known the world's oldest drum, yourself. Vary between surfaces quickly now and don't forget to make a pretty rhythm with a pattern called a beat.
Faith's Assurance
Faith is trust in
What we cannot see
Though all around should tell us
That what we believe could not be.
Even when mortal sight is dim
And it's hard to keep on trust him,
Look to God in prayer
For faith finds answers there.
When all seems dark
And very grim,
When shadows press
Faith looks to him.
Though the heathen rage,
The very mountains quake,
And earth itself be moved
Faith will never take
Me from his hands.
He loves and watches me;
Though I can't see him
Faith will always see.
When hopes and dreams falter
And life comes crashing down,
Then amidst darkness whispers faith,
"The cross before the crown."
Cleaning House
I don't think it would
Be mad to shock a nation.
Expect her procrastination
Momma's on probation.
Ah, that's simply discrimination
Look out for the big word
Poppa says self-incrimination.
As the little blocks drop
In the slot they plop
Click, stop
Like families in a row
Waiting for God to
Call their time below.
Disambiguous,
Monster dear,
Should appear
Monster here.
Redemption
Weeping will not last the night
Nor sorrow ever be for long.
Even darkness must give way to sight
Beautiful redemption song.
Dead and in the ground laid
God's Son was sealed, forbade to rise.
Sin's debt forever paid
As empty grave points to the skies:
The beautiful redemption song.
New life he freely gave
For this we praise our king;
Of every tribe and nation saved
The redeemed this chorus sing
A beautiful redemption song.
Relive this Moment
Relive this moment.
Just a drop in the ocean
Like a little grain of sand.
Two mariners went sailing
Unaware of the lay of the land.
Just two lights in the darkness,
Unafraid and unsure,
Held tight to the other
Unknown to the lure
That stretched out between
And pushed them apart.
Now time has no boundaries
And love has no end.
Yet time will remember
To turn back and bend
Reliving this moment
Still in my heart.
Love
Love is not without reservation
Or thoughts of self-preservation.
For love is not a fight,
A constant struggle to be right.
But love gives itself away
Completely everyday.
Yet through this selfless giving
One finds life is well worth living.
As this paradox tried
Then one is fully satisfied.
