Adder of the Rock
The adder of the rock is a mighty strange creature. Its' form is decidedly serpentine, much like the snake. It is often found slithering around along on the ground. The way it moves, much like its' digestion, is through a series of rythmic muscular contractions. The muscles on both sides of the snake tense up allowing it to spring, thereby moving forward. Most of these will move from side to side but not all. Some prefer to move in fashion similar to the letter S repeated over and over. Others will move in a straight-line sort of fashion while not many move sideways except for a few. The only other difference between an adder and a regular snake is that it's poison. In this respect, the adder and the asp are quite similar. Both it seems, have poison contained in the jaws. This, much like few spiders, is strong enough to stun or even kill a man.
With all that, I guess it's a good thing antivenom was made. Antivenom as the name suggests was developed as an antidote or a cure for snakebite. That way, when what is deadly attacks, the bitten will live. Antivenom though is very specific to the types of snakes rendered, unless of course you have the power of the Lord. So, Paul once found when he stuck his hand into the fire to add some more wood. What he had though was a snake who in return for his efforts, attacked. Paul though shook that thing off much to everyone's shock and through the power of the Lord was perfectly fine. Then again, the other peculiar thing about the adder is their famed ability to hear. Perhaps they don't hear as we know it. Nonetheless, some snake charmers in far off places have been able to convince them quite well with all their fancy flutes and pipings they made.
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
