3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Matthew 13:3-8

Well, well, well. We have finally found another problem. This is of a man who had a problem.

Certain amount of seed

amount is unknown

we'll call it x

the seed is also unknown so we will call it y

Don't ask me why though, that's just what some people do. It should be written like this: xy: because the amount has potential. XY means the number of x times the number of y

100 percent of potential is 100y or 100 times y

60 percent of potential is 60y or 60 times y

30 percent of potential is 30y or 30 times y

Alright, so we have three problems based on how much harvest this man has. The harvest is called the fold or the sum in total of his increase. Don't forget though, we're dealing with percent which should be looking like this.

100% or 1.00 times y

60% or .60 times y

30% or .30 times y

This is due to the fact that the man sowed the same amount of seed on each ground. Therefore, they all have the same potential. Let's say he sows 5 seeds.

Now, 500, 300, and 150 added together is how much?

____

950

That's because any number times zero is always zero. Keep the place. But if you add a zero to a number, it will always be that number. 950 fold is amazing. That ground must've really had a lot of potential for the obstacles to help so much. Either that, or else the sower was just really powerful or something and the seed multiplied itself. Now, let's say y is oh I don't know, 15 seeds.

____

500 (100x5)

1000 (100x1)

____

1500 (500+1000)

This is because the last number in the bottom row gets multiplied across the top number and brought down. The second number of the bottom is done the same way but add a zero at the end since you moved over a place. Now, what? I'm sorry it's boring, I'm sorry. Just two more, I promise. Then we'll look at something ordinary later.

My goodness, that's an awful lot of numbers.
