Luke 11:10-13
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
In essence, if you being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more will God give those who ask him. So, it seems then that there are those who would challenge the goodness of God. You tried to say even the scorpions and the rocks which cried aloud when you kept silent were a gift from him to his children. Oh no, my friends. Man did that. More specifically you did that. Look with me at the text. How many of you when your son asks for fish or bread will you give him a stone, a snake, or a scorpion. I sure am glad that God doesn't give his children exactly what they deserve, aren't you? I have a feeling much as some of our children and quite possibly some of the Lord's children also do deserve snakes, scorpions, and rocks. Yet because of his goodness, how many of us still get it fed and what we need in plenty. Let me suggest, if you got it then it was not from him. Rather it was from the evil one or another bad father but not from the Lord. His goodness is unquestionable. As in 1 Chronicles 16:34, his mercy endures forever. It’s who he is, my friends. To think any different in the face of his love, invites bad things to come in. So Isaiah 14:29 speaks to the fruit of such teaching being even that of a flying fiery cockatrice. The serpent also is a close relation to that. Surely though such will hurt not the children of yesterdays nor yet the ones of tomorrow in Isaiah 11:8. Notice also their similarities to the creatures that rose from out of the abyss in Revelation 9. God surely will send all that if you insist, but how many know he would rather not. Look with me then at something good God has given. My, it seems Romans 15:3-4 carries with it some good news indeed even that of Christ come in with the Scriptures.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
I can hear you now wondering ‘does it matter what we call it.’ Indeed it does, dear church. It makes all the difference when your relationship with God is at stake. So Paul found in the Corinthians when he met with the man who would have his father’s wife. See, such is not of God nor did he send it. Imagine now, our eternal Father, the Shepherd of our souls suffering any such as to have his own house yet himself thrust out. Yet John himself testifies to the spirit of antichrist which even now has come into the world. This spirit it seems would deny Christ has come in the flesh as in 1 John 2:22-24. For we know that many antichrists have come forth into the world.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
It's clear to me that the spirit of antichrist has been around a long time due to the people's own will for the profit. Yet what profit is it should the whole world be gained and their own soul be lost. For so it was a gift they insisted upon giving themselves even after that of the evil father spoken of in the text. See also how it says all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. Now I know some have interpreted that quite loosely to mean that Scripture given by any other name is still good for this. Such is not the case. It is just like saying all Israel is Israel. You and I both well know that not all Israel is Israel for instance. Nor is there any other name given among men whereby we must be saved. Thus there is some that is not Scripture and therefore straight from the fiery pits of hell itself. It is important you see and understand this brethren to get what comes next. Nevertheless, it's fine if you don't get it, understand, or even care to. Of this rebellion, the prophet Ezekiel had much to speak. How so often the church loves to sing of the days of Ezekiel. Yet when it comes right on down to it, when was the last time you heard that book preached, taught, or even whispered in the church. No, I guarantee you it will not be for you are all much too busy trying to find out if the grace that saved you was alone or not.
Which I don't know if it was or not but I know you will be if you don't start taking heed to what it says. You do know what happened to those that slew the prophets and were found guilty of the blood of all the saints, right? Say it with me now, 'their house was left unto them desolate.' Yours will be too if you do not obey, I care not who you are nor yet where you come from. God loves you far too much to be in the business of playing games with you. In fact, God doesn't play games my friends. The world does that. He loves us just as much in his forbearance as he does in the judgement, if not more. It seems that I can almost hear you now wailing on about what God did and did not say. My friends, if you're going to affirm the deity of Christ, you have to affirm them all and if you deny the one you also deny the other. There is no picking or choosing and no middle ground to be had here either. Whoever believes not that Jesus Christ has come in.the flesh is not of God. So also, whoever believes not that it is so as laid out in Scripture, you also are not of God. There you have it folks, you either believe this is the Word or it isn't. There's no middle ground when your life is at stake, your familys at stake, your nations at stake your kingdoms at stake. Jesus Christ has come for his house. The nobleman has come into his kingdom. It's time for you to take off your crowns and lay them down at his feet. How often do we sing in the church 'crown him with many crowns' yet here we are clutching on so tightly to all this world has to offer. Oh, he is worthy dear friends of all that and more.
